RULES

 

This 11th competition is open to singeres of all nationalities without age limit.

 

 

The COMPETITION involves :

- a first round

- a second round

- a final round open to the public

 

All performances should be from memory.

 

Choice of programme :

The candidate should include in his programme : two mélodies by the composer chosen and three other mélodies by any composer.

 

Candidates may compete for two prizes : in which case his programme should include two mélodies by each composer chosen and one other mélodie by any composer.

 

 

First round :

- the mélodies of the chosen composer (or composers).

 

Second round :

- the other mélodies on the competitors programme.

 

Final public round :

- the whole programme, or selctions chosen by the judges.

 

For all newly composed works competitors should make two copies available to the judges.

 

The competition will take place from Wednesday 8th March to Saturday 11th March 2000 at the Salle ROSSINI, 6 rue Drouot, Paris 9ème

 

The final will take place : Saturday 11th 2000, in the same hall.

 

The application fee is 350 FF.

 

Applications should be received by 22nd February 2000.

 

Competitors may come with their own accompanist though there will be an official accompanist available. Competitors should indicate whether they need the services of the accompanist on their application.

 

The cost of rehearsals will be met by the competitor.

 

The competitors will be heard in alphabetical order, starting with a letter picked at random

.

The Jury will be presided by Monsieur Jacques JANSEN.

 

The coice of the Jury is final. The Jury reserves the right not to distribute all the prizes.
